Well Thing 2 (Aaron being Thing 1) is on its way. We knew that we wanted to have another baby, especially a sibling for Aaron. So we decided that now would be a good as time as ever. The baby is due March 6th (what a nice birthday present.) We are really excited and can't wait to find out what we are having, will the baby be a cookie cutter kid and look like Aaron or will the baby have totally different characteristics? I would love to have a little girl, but would be thrilled to have a boy...shoot I have everything that I would need. It's just the anticipation that is driving me crazy. I am however more relaxed and less worrisome then the first time around, I know what to expect and there is less of the unknown (besides the sex of the baby.)
So in the mean time we are focusing on getting the house and Aaron ready for the new addition. We are going to move Aaron down the hall to the existing guest bedroom so the baby can be closer to our bedroom. I want to deck out his room in a pirates theme, I have some ideas, we'll see how it turns out. As for Aaron's old room, depending on what we are having, we will leave it the same (sports) if it's a boy and if it's a girl...the sky's the limit :) Well....within reason and what Jeremy will let me do.
Sorry guests....you have been kicked out. Our bedroom downstairs will be our playroom/guest room. Yikes we are already out growing our home, it seemed so big three years ago.
The grandparents are beyond excited. My mom has insisted that if we have a girl, we name her Miriam, only because in the Bible that was Aaron's sister's name. I don't think so, my mom is crazy. This is why we did not tell anyone what we were naming Aaron until he was born. To many cooks in the kitchen. Jeremy's parents can't wait to get their hands on another grandchild. Pam is looking forward to taking care of the baby so I can go back to work.
Finally what does Aaron think of all this??? I think that it is too early for him to understand what is really going to happen to his world. I think once I start to show and get a big tummy, he will start to get it. He will be an awesome brother, he is so sweet with Talon's baby sister Allie. He is very gentle with her and loves feeding her, her bottle, and gets concerned when she cries. I think that he will be a big helper for mommy.
Some of my thoughts that run through my head are...will I be able to start all over again...will Aaron understand that mommy loves him just as much as the baby...will Jeremy have the patience for me when I may lose it for a brief second....and so on. I worry about these things but in the end I just need to relax, take a deep breath and take in these moments because they will be here and gone in a blink of an eye.

Potty Training and Big Boy Bed
It's been awhile since I've posted a blog...we've been busy!!! First, for the last two weeks Aaron has been diaper free! We started Aaron on the whole potty training thing in December...didn't go so well. Since then he would occasionally ask to go on the 'Big Potty.' Two weeks ago we finally just bit the bullet and agreed to get rid of the diaper no matter what. Well, we've had our ups and downs, but for the most part Aaron is doing great. He gets really excited in the morning when he gets to pick out his big boy underwear (combination of tighty-whites, Cars and Mickey Mouse.) We tell him he needs to keep his underwear dry and tell mommy and daddy when he need to go potty. For the most part he tells us, however we are constantly asking him, "do you need to go potty?" We don't have an accident free day yet...but we are getting close.
The next big thing going on with us is that Aaron is out of his crib and into a bunk bed. He LOVES climbing up and down the ladder. We've been storing Jeremy old bunk bed that he used when he was a kid so it has some sentimental value. After tearing apart the garage for the hardware to put it together we gave up and improvised with hardware we purchased from Home Depot. Since Aaron is obsessed with the Car's movie we bought him a set of Cars sheets.Aaron is growing so fast and getting more and more independent. He isn't a baby anymore he's grown into a little boy. He loves to help mommy with grocery shopping and cleaning (yeah!!!) and loves to help daddy in the yard with mowing and
pulling weeds (yeah!!!) Every Monday afternoon he loves to help take out the trash cans and on Tuesday evenings always asks to bring the cans in (with help of course.) When we are not a home we are usually at the park with Talon, Allie and Auntie Liv. He LOVES the swings...I need to teach him how to swing...my arms get tired. :) That's pretty much the low down on the Fratts. Same ol' Same ol'.

Happiest Place on Earth
Growing up, Disneyland was a place we would go as a family maybe once every five years so Jeremy and I were so excited when my parents bought us annual passes to Disneyland so we can take Aaron many times this year, while he is still FREE. We love going not for us, but for Aaron, we just love to see his face when we go on the rides and see the Disney characters.
We used our passes for the first time last week, we all piled in to the car (Jeremy, Me, Aaron, Liv, Dom, Talon and Allie) and headed off to Disneyland. We went on a perfect day, the weather was nice, and the lines were non-existent. We pretty much walked on to every ride....two year olds do not like to wait. Both Aaron and Talon were tall enough to go on the Manahorn and both loved it!!!! Their first big roller coaster!!!! We saw and met Pluto and Goofy, we even got our pictures taken with them. We rode the new Finding Nemo Submarine adventure for the first time, not for the claustrophobic type.
Inbetween riding the kiddy rides, us adults took turns riding the big kids rides, I LOVE Space Mountain!!!! We all had a great time, and the kids did great, considering they didn't get a nap. We are already planning our next trip.

We cut his hair
Well, Jeremy finally made me cut Aaron's beautiful curly hair. We guessed that his last hair cut was sometime in August, because it was sorta curly for Talon's birthday which is in September. Anyways, I had told Jeremy I would cut it right after his birthday, but I dragged my feet and bought another month. I really didn't want to cut his hair, but it was getting a little out of control. He had some serious bed head after naps :) I actually cried after I finish cutting his hair and was cleaning up the locks of curls off the floor. I don't know why I got so upset, maybe because when Aaron's hair is so short, it makes him look so much older. My little baby isn't baby anymore. We'll see how long we can go this time!

Christmas
This was a third Christmas celebration with Aaron and the best so far. The first one, I was just glad not to be pregnant anymore and that Aaron was a healthy and happy baby. Last year we were not at home, so it just wasn't the same as waking up in your own bed and opening up presents in your own home. This year we stayed home and hosted our families over a two day marathon. First we celebrated Christmas Eve with Jeremy's
family. We had an Italian dinner and finished things off with an absolutely delicious peppermint cake for dessert that Christy prepared. After dinner we opened gifts, I couldn't wait to see Aaron open up his gifts. Just a couple of weeks before we celebrated his second birthday, and he had a blast opening his birthday gifts. I think there were a total of three cameras on Aaron as he opened his gifts. He loved opening each and every present but he also wanted each present taken out of its packaging or box. Which by the way, I want to shoot the person who thinks of all the clever way to package a toy. I swear every toy is basically tied, taped and screwed in so
securely you have to spend at least 10 min just to get the toy out and by then, Aaron had lost interest.

Because we made him get up so early we had to open presents immediately, so he could go back to bed. Once again, all cameras were on Aaron. Aaron had a blast!!! He went from one present to another, he kept on saying, "More, More, More." I was worried he was going to think this was going to be an everyday thing. I was so excited when Jeremy and I opened our gift from my parents, they bought us one year passes to Disneyland (with parking)!!!!
I started to cry, I was so excited!!! After opening gifts we had a strawberry and whip cream waffle breakfast...yum! Later in the morning Jeremy moved the cars out of the garage so the ping pong and dart marathons could take place, I think he whooped up on everyone so no one wanted to play anymore...show off. I don't even bother playing him anymore because I know I'm going to lose.

Aaron Turns Two!!!
We just celebrated Aaron's 2ND birthday!!! Aaron loves Elmo, Zoe,
Cookie Monster and the rest of the gang so we threw him a Sesame Street party. We invited all of Aaron little friends and they all ran around like crazy people. We made him a house out of a big box and decorated it with all of the Sesame Street characters. It was the hit of the party. When it came time to open presents, Aaron had a blast, he was so excited to rip open the boxes and immediately wanted to play with all his
new toys...Mom was more excited for the clothes. : ) Can't wait to see how much fun he has on Christmas morning. Mom decided to get a little creative and baked Aaron an Elmo cake, it was actually really easy and tasted pretty good. It's hard to believe that Aaron has been around for two years, the time has just flown by. We are looking forward to many more birthday celebrations.

Halloween
Happy Halloween!!!! This was Aaron first year trick-or-treating (last year he was not walking yet) and he had a blast....as did we! This year Aaron and his best friend Talon were spooky skeletons. Not even knowing it but these costumes were great in the dark...we were able to see the outline of the bones in the dark of night when they wandered off. It only took Aaron two houses to figure out what was going on. After that he continued to say, "MORE CANDY" after each house. Even after an hour of walking house to house, Aaron refused to let us hold him even though he was exhausted. We think it was the excitement of collecting as much candy as he could. Aaron had a pirate skull bucket to collect his candy and mom (Holly) carried a backup bag for the overflow from Aaron bucket. It was a challenge to distract Aaron from his bucket long enough to take candy out...when his skull bucket got too full Aaron kept dropping it from the weight. Halloween trick-or-treating was a success!!!
